Communications consultancy Northern Lights PR is celebrating a hat trick of award wins, including a prestigious Communicator of the Year award for CEO Victoria Tomlinson and top industry acknowledgement for consultant Helen Standing.
The Harrogate consultancy, founded by Victoria Tomlinson 22 years ago was also a finalist in the Best Use of Social Media category for its ‘no-nonsense’ e-book on social media for business.
Only last week Northern Lights PR’s Helen Standing was named one of PR Week’s 29 under 29, recognising the brightest and most inspirational young PR talent across the UK. Helen was one of only a handful of PR practitioners outside of London to receive the accolade. Last year she won Outstanding Young Communicator at the CIPR’s regional PRide Awards.
The wins follow Northern Lights PR’s success in being shortlisted in three categories in the recent national Some Comms Awards for best social media campaigns and practice.
Judges of the CIPR PRide Awards said that the special award reflected Victoria’s significant contribution to the PR and communications industry and wider business community. They singled out her pioneering paid internship scheme for BAME graduates in the North, run in conjunction with the Taylor Bennett Foundation, and her ebook on social media for business.
Commenting on the award wins Victoria Tomlinson said: “It is an honour to be recognised by our peers for the work we do on behalf of clients, for our innovation and for our contribution to the wider community. I am particularly pleased that Helen has gained national recognition for her creativity, PR skills and business focus, all of which is highly rated by our clients.”
